DPW Leaf Collection Update

Good Afternoon Commissioners,

Please let me apologize for our delay in completing your ward’s first pass leaf collection by the scheduled collection dates. I assure you my team is working diligently to complete your ward’s first pass for leaf collection. My leadership team has instituted some logistical and personnel modifications we believe will get your ward’s remaining sections their first pass for leaf collection completed by December 19.

We have also updated the timing for the second pass for leaf collection. The updated timing for the second pass for leaf collection is reflected below:

  • For the second pass at leaf collection residents in sections A of their respective wards should rake their leaves out Sunday, December 19.

  • For the second pass at leaf collection residents in sections B of their respective wards should rake their leaves out Sunday, December 26.

Please note leaves raked out on Sunday are not deemed late for collection until the following Sunday. The remaining sections scheduled second pass for leaf collection updated timing for raking leaves out will be determined by December 27, 2021. Once the timing is finalized for all remaining sections, all Councilmembers, ANC’s, community liaisons, etc… will receive that information. The updated schedule will be posted on DPW’s website and social media messaging will direct residents to check the updated schedule on our website.

Thank you,

The Department of Public Works
