DPW Update

The Department of Public Works (DPW) ensures the cleanliness of the District’s residential neighborhoods, high-visibility commercial areas, gateway corridors, and industrial zones through a combination of direct services, education, and enforcement.

This week DPW will resume most normal operations. As a result of last week’s snow events, some DPW services were delayed or suspended. DPW worked through the weekend to catch up on trash and recycling collection and public litter can servicing. Residents can call 311 to place service requests if trash and recycling are missed or if public litter cans are overflowing. Please be reminded that public litter can receptacles collect waste while in transit, not household trash. For your awareness, please see our daily operational status for the remainder of the week below.
