Fort Slocum Clean-Up - April 9th 10am-12pm

Please join Rock Creek Conservancy and the National Park Service for our 2022 EXTREME CLEANUP! This annual event is a watershed-wide cleanup movement to remove litter throughout Rock Creek, its tributaries, and surrounding neighborhoods and parklands. We hope you'll join us!

Activity: Student volunteers will participate in a socially-distant trash cleanup.

Please register yourself and each member of your group INDIVIDUALLY. For the health and safety of our volunteers and leaders we cannot accept walk-ups or any groups that do not have all members registered. Thank you for keeping us all safe this cleanup season!

When: Saturday, April 9th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Where: Fort Slocum Park. Volunteers should meet at the picnic shelter located near the intersection of Madison St and Kansas Ave NW. Street parking is available.

What to Wear: Please dress appropriately for the work and weather. Wear long sleeves and sturdy boots or sneakers.

What to Bring: Water and snacks, work and weather appropriate clothing. Please bring your own gloves if you can! Students are able to gain SSL hours. Bring necessary forms to be signed.

Weather/Cancellation Policy: All participants will be notified via email before the event start time if an event is canceled due to inclement weather. If you do not hear from us you should assume the event will occur as scheduled.
