I was supposed to make a video but my WIFI is down so my video quality is horrible. But here are my answers to some important questions:
When do you and your family begin to prepare for snow season?
Once fall hits I begin planning for the snow season.
How do your children participate in making your family and home winter ready?
My daughter usually comes with me to do grocery shopping for non-perishable items and personal care items and medications.
Do you have 3 – 5 days of non-perishable food items before a snow event is forecast?
Yes
Do you check snow.dc.gov when a winter weather event has been forecast?
Yes
What is usually included in your first aid kit?
Bacitracin, OTC medications in pill and liquid form, BP cuff, Pulse-OX reader, bandages, ace bandages, ice packs, heating pad and 5-7 day supply of prescription medications.
How do you make sure you have prescriptions and over-the-counter medications for everyone in your home including your pets, before a winter weather event is forecast?
I request additional medications for at least 5-7 days ahead of a major snow event.
Do you have jumper cables, a working flashlight, batteries and windshield scraper in your car?
Yes
Do you keep water and non-perishable snacks in your car?
No, but I need to start, just in case.
Where do you get information to determine if the road conditions are safe for driving?
I look to the weather channel, NBC 4 or snow.dc.gov.
Do you find a battery powered radio useful during a winter weather event?
I've never used one but it may be time to invest in one, just in case.
Can you use non-clumping kitty litter to get traction underneath your tires?
I prefer not too.
