March 15: Adopt a Block monthly webinar + cleanup + budget
Good morning, Adopt a Block friends!
I hope you're all enjoying this break in the weather and staying safe and healthy.
Our next Adopt a Block meeting will be March 15 at 5:30 pm. You can register for it here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/march-adopt-a-block-webinar-tickets-144068644193
We'll be joined by Officer Matthew Jones, of the Environmental Crimes Unit at the Metropolitan Police Department's 6th District. He is one of my favorite DC Government colleagues and will share stories with us about investigating and prosecuting illegal dumping cases. This promises to be a very entertaining conversation.
I also hope to get input from you on your priorities for the Mayor's budget before she submits it to Council in April. We'll also have time for one or two Group Spotlights--if you'd like to share your story please let me know in advance!
Two other announcements:
The Mayor's annual Spring Cleanup is March 20. You can read more about that here: https://communityaffairs.dc.gov/page/get-outside-meet-your-neighbors-and-show-your-dc-love
As you know, Lorena Kowalewski accepted a terrific new opportunity in the Department of Energy and Environment. I am your primary point of contact for now, but please bear with me until I can get another excellent person on our team. The job opening if posted here, if you know anyone who would be a good fit (including you!): https://mota.applytojob.com/apply/Miny2MujIM/Program-Analyst-Mayors-Office-On-The-Clean-City
Thanks, all! Look forward to seeing you on the 15th!
