The Department of General Services (DGS) and the Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) are writing to provide an update on the Takoma Aquatic Center.
We are excited to share that DC Health conducted a final inspection of the pool and we are ready to host a “Back to Pool” soft opening on Sunday, August 21, 2022, for our seniors and neighboring community. More details to follow.
The aquatic center will officially open to the public on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, and operate at full capacity during normal hours.
DGS is completing HVAC testing and minor punch list items. DPR is also completing outdoor pool summer operations and is finalizing staffing for the fall to support full seven-day-a-week indoor aquatic center operations.
Takoma pool's operating hours, starting September 6, will be 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
We understand how much this facility is used by residents from Takoma and across the District. We appreciate your patience as we work to get this facility back in use.
