Upcoming Georgia Ave Bus Priority Community Engagement
Good afternoon Ward 4 Commissioners,
Happy August to you all!
I'm reaching out with an update on the Bus Priority Project on Georgia Avenue. As you may be aware, DDOT has announced a public open house, as well as three pop-up events, to introduce and discuss concepts for Georgia Avenue with the public. DDOT staff are working to advertise the meeting through flyering, press releases, social media, and our website, but any help you can provide in passing the meeting notice along to your constituents would be greatly appreciated. The dates and times are listed below:
DDOT hosted open house – Wednesday, August 10th from 5:00 to 7:30 PM at the Petworth Neighborhood Library (meeting room 1)
Pop-up at the Georgia Ave-Petworth Metro station plaza – Saturday, August 13th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Pop-up at the Georgia Ave-Petworth Metro station plaza – Tuesday, August 16th from 7:30 to 10:00 AM
Pop-up at the Georgia Ave-Petworth Metro station plaza – Thursday, August 18th from 3:00 to 5:30 PM
All related materials will be posted on our new website following the public meeting, including a draft concept for the corridor and a pre-recorded presentation for those who are unable to attend the open house. We will continue to accept comments following the meeting. The open house will be the primary engagement effort and discussion of concepts, but we are also happy to attend upcoming ANC meetings to discuss the concepts in more detail.
Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
Best,
--
