I hope you are well and staying safe. I am sending you this message to let you know that Yamileth and I wanted to make sure you were aware of upcoming events in and around our community. As always, please feel free to let us know if you have any questions or need further clarification on any of the below events.

Tomorrow at 6:30pm, please join our partners at DDOT for a virtual (WebEx) public meeting and overview of the Metro Branch Trail, specifically on the stretch from Blair Road to Piney Branch Road, NW. The design team is eager to hear your feedback on the recently completed section ending at Fort Totten and what to expect in the next phase.

WHEN: Tuesday, June 7th

June is National Homeownership Month and, in order to keep Washingtonians in Washington, we're working to make DC's housing supply more equitable. Join us later this week as we for the launch the Black Homeownership Strike Force.

June is also Pride Month, which means that the Mayor will be marching in the upcoming Capital Pride Parade taking place this Saturday, June 11th. To join the Mayor for one of the largest Pride Parades ever to take place in the United States Capital, meet at 1:30pm at the Reeves Center (located at the intersection of 14th & U Streets, NW)!

WHAT: 2022 Capital Pride Parade

WHEN: Saturday, June 11, 2022

TIME: 1:30 PM meet up

LOCATION: Reeves Center (2000 14th Street, NW)

On June 14th, the Office of Unified Communications will be coming to Ward 4, specifically First Baptist Church (located at 712 Randolph Street, NW). This hybrid (in-person meeting with virtual option) will be a great opportunity to share feedback directly with Director Holmes regarding 311/911 related matters specific to our community. Can’t wait to see you there.
