Upcoming Volunteer Trainings with Rock Creek Conservancy

Writer's picture: Tiffani JohnsonTiffani Johnson

Hope you're doing well! I wanted to share a couple upcoming volunteer training opportunities that may be of interest to you or another community member involved with the upkeep of Fort Slocum. These volunteer trainings provide information on local stormwater concerns, how to be a good steward to Rock Creek (and encourage your community to do the same), and also prepares folks to lead your own cleanup events in the watershed.

Tuesday September 7th & Thursday September 9th, 5:30-7 PM

Saturday, September 11th, 10:30-12 PM

I think it would be great to have a dedicated volunteer to help with some of the trash concerns in that area, leading regular cleanups and otherwise helping to keep tabs on things. The Conservancy would provide all materials and other support for the events as needed for these initiatives.

Please share as you see fit!

Thank you,

Alayna
