Update to DPW Leaf Collection

Writer's picture: Tiffani JohnsonTiffani Johnson

Due to COVID-19 the Department of Public Works (DPW) has revised is fall leaf collection protocol:

DPW will begin its leaf collection cycle in November. All leaves will now need to be BAGGED. Each home will receive 20 paper yard bags for leaf collection. These filled bags need to be placed out in the tree bed in FRONT of your house the Sunday before your assigned trash collection. You can put out as many bags as needed. If you exceed the 20 bags allotted by DPW you will need to obtain additional bags on your own.

If you are a senior or a person with a disability, please reach out to me at 4b06@anc.dc.gov or 202.271.3710 and I can assist in linking you to ServeDC which can assist with leaf collection.
