Additional Kansas Avenue Roadway Improvements

July 22, 2022

Subject: Notice of Roadway Restoration

Dear Resident/ANC/Local Businesses/Property Managers:

The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will begin a Roadway Improvement project along Kansas Avenue, N.W. between Peabody Street, N.W. and Chillum Place, N.E., Kansas Avenue, N.E. on or about Thursday, July 28, 2022.

This work will include repair of curbs and gutters and resurfacing of the roadway pavement within the project limits. It is estimated to take approximately two weeks to complete, weather permitting.

If weather conditions, schedule changes or unforeseen issues do not permit our contractor to begin this work on the date stated above, the new start date for construction will be listed on the Emergency No Parking Signs posted on the poles and trees throughout the construction project site.

Due to the nature of the work, curbside parking will be restricted at this location during construction. At least one lane of traffic will be maintained throughout the construction area. The contractor is allowed to work between the hours of 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM Monday through Friday and 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Saturdays. Please note the temporary “EMERGENCY NO PARKING” signs displaying the date and time of the construction work and move your vehicle if necessary. These signs will be posted on the streets a minimum of 72 hours before the start of work.

DDOT thanks you in advance for your patience and understanding during the construction; if you have any questions or concerns, please contact our engineer Mr. Delante Toyer at delante.toyer@dc.gov, 202-391-8236 (cell), or 202-671-4572 (office).

Best Regards,

For/ Delante Toyer Project Manager
